You moved into a house with a pre-existing security system
Sometimes when you close on a home, a home security system is already in use. All the components work, are installed in the right places, and are ready to go. In this instance, you might see that you have to call and start a new contract. A Vivint professional will still come to your home to ensure there are no integration problems, and they may offer suggestions on an upgrade or two. It's a quick trip, and you can have your monitoring set up without worrying about any new devices -- unless you make additions.
The old homeowners can transfer an existing Vivint contract to you for a nominal transfer cost to make your life a snap. If the previous owners are downsizing to an apartment or retirement community, turning over the home security contract may be a part of the sale.
You are looking to move and bring your existing devices with you
You might need to take your favorite Vivint system with you to your new home when you move. It should be pretty easy to accomplish, as many smart devices are plug and play. You can remove each device yourself or use a professional installer to take down everything. Then our installers will set up the same devices -- and any additions you need to have -- in your new home. Your home security contract will stay the same.
